Pakistan Drop Middle-Order Batter for Sri Lanka ODI Series and T20I Tri-Series

After their ODI series win against South Africa last night, Pakistan have set their sights on the upcoming three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. While the performances of majority of the squad were satisfactory, Pakistan is set to make one change to their squad from the previous series.

As revealed by head coach, Mike Hesson, during the post series press conference, swashbuckling middle-order batter, Hassan Nawaz is set to be sent back to the domestic circuit and work on enhancing his batting skills, releasing him from his duties in both ODIs and T20Is.

Hesson said, “Hassan Nawaz will be going back to domestic cricket. Rather than sitting on the bench, we want him to gain confidence. He is a fine player, but he needs time in the middle.”

No replacement has been announced for Hassan Nawaz for the ODI series against Sri Lanka while Fakhar Zaman has been recalled to the T20I squad at his expense.

The rest of the ODI squad will be the same, with Pakistan persisting with the team that won it’s first-ever ODI series against South Africa at home.
