The Punjab Environment Protection and Climate Change Department has introduced emission testing fees for vehicles, starting November 10.
As per the department’s notification, the new charges are as follows:
- Up to 1,000cc: Rs. 500
- 1,001cc to 1,500cc: Rs. 800
- 1,501cc to 2,500cc: Rs. 1,000
- 2,501cc to 4,500cc: Rs. 1,500
- Above 4,500cc: Rs. 2,000
The department said the fee must be paid online through the e-Pay system, and a payment confirmation message will be sent to the user’s registered mobile number.
Motorists have been instructed to bring their CNIC when appearing for the emission test.

Main issue is still the visibility and availability of number of machines and spots to public.
Only Fines and Fines publicity!? is not at all fine, typical old autocratic bureaucratic approach of forcibly pushing the citizens is not good.
Please increase number machines and easy access to public first.
Very rightly pointed out. Besides what a joke and money minting tactic it is that the fee has been fixed as per car engine displacement. What does emission has to do with displacement or what extra work the emission testing gadget has to do for testing a bigger engine? It’s the same procedure where CO level is tested be it a 800 cc or 5000 cc engine. Apart from this all these departments and their personnel are paid out of public funds collected in the shape of taxes then why this fee?? It is a public service and should be free. Fines should only be imposed and collected from defaulters who contribute negatively to the environment. Shame.
جوتے مارنے والے بڑھا دیئے جائیں ہمیں اور بھی کام کرنے ہوتے ہیں۔
We’ve already paid taxes. Either make it free or no point in getting it .. include all transport vehicles and govt vehicles and bikes and trucks and rickshaws then talk.
Otherwise it’s a waste of time and money
Cry cry cry little guy.
Appreciated
This is a totally foolish practice. We are living in 3rd world country with world’s worst ecomony. People in pakistan are just trying to meet both ends meet. People are using even 30 to 50 years old cars to meet their need. How old cars whose volume is more than 90% of vehicles. These cars never pass the test. If these foolish politicians thing they are able to fix the cars which is 40years old then they must have their mechanics team at the testing booth to fix them. Unless this exercise is just to open a new way of bribe of officials not more then that.
All information is being disbursed but the location of the tests. That’s such a poor approach. Locations toh btao. Mein ja ke kara bhi sakun.
You can find location from Google. Last time I did the same and and spent 15 minutes to register my car Near to expo center.
Rubbish. So many points do not exist. Time is supposed to be 10 am, but people are lining up with their cars from 6 am. Badly managed system.
Helpline pur call karain sari location pta chul jayengi. Aur khud bhi kuch google ker lain hur information mojood hai website pur

Where are emission test centre .?
Gujranwala main center kis jagha ha
First of all why was this information not posted in the newspapers or TV before the 10th November. Today, just now I See this on goggle. What is e_Pay? Making it more and more difficult for the senior citizens who are not savvy with all this technology.
It’s the character of the government, if u r charging fee from domestic car owners, at least announce emissions testing sites through social n electronic media, as most of the earlier points r not providing services . For example in Lahore Liberty Market, Los office etc.
only small segment of nation is tax payer and elite mafia is ready to squeeze further. Think what will happen if this segment is finished and it will happen soon.
سرکاری گاڑیوں کو بھی چیک کریں وہ ہی دھواں چھوڑ تی ہیں
Fee fee fee fee fee fee fee, fine fine fine fine, out put nothing…..
I did not find any point of smoke ommission test in lahore since 2 month even specified call no not working
Number of inspection points must be increased.
Tests should be free of cost, as government is already collecting lot of revenue from general public through multiple taxes, levis and surcharges.
They say that there r about 60 testing points in lahore but actually only 3 to 4 are operational. The main motive is just to annoy people and make their lives hard.. Aik to ye parhy huy nhi hen or oper se koshish bhi nhi krty..
This is the duty of government to chk emission free of cost in offices malls, hospitals, parking etc .we still couldn’t find any point of vet .
Ways to swindle more. This is unacceptable…
Previously motor cycles were not included in emission testing. They are doing joke with public. In fact the idea behind is to earn money for their lavish spendings. Public is paying taxes and taxes against which not getting sny facility from government. Hospitals, Land grabbers are looting but no action against them. Public can’t expect just from courts so and so forth. Emission testing should be free specially the motorcycles.

Bhai location batane ki zehmat bhi karlo 10 bke se 2 baar lakshmi chowk ka chakkar lagaya hai koi bhi nhi hai.
How to apply for this emission test and get this sticker
Should be free otherwise no output…just way to squeeze the people more…
I am from Bahria Town Lahore, The Emission team was available for few weeks only and then they got disappeared. I saw the vehicles being used for personal usage. I spotted theses SUVs in Rafi and Jinnah block where kids were driving.
I tried to find the team on mentioned spot but found none. The Govt should have a strict check on these personals not to use these car for personal use, also make sure they are available on nominated points/locations.
What about 650 cc vehicles. These range of vehicles are exempted for this test. Please update if anyone have any information?
Very good, should be done by every vehicle before going to road.
I think it’s all insane because whole Punjab up till today don’t have any instructions regarding Emission test even in Sargodha thousands of vehicles used to visit Lahore but Government don’t have machines to entertain then.
This is the only way to snatch money from the nation.
If you don’t have the ability to entertain then why you are teasing Nation.
First fulfill your side then order people to come for Emission test.
Spread mobile units for the tests. What About other than Lahore?
Emissions test should be done forcefully on ching chi riksha and diesel heavy vehicles as well as two stroke motorcycle
I being doctor appreciate this beautiful action of govt of Punjab
We cannot fill their STOMACH, this government is so greedy stealing money from poor civilians by imposing stupid fines.
All.they need is money out of our pocket to have their luxurious life driving 15 Million car with free petrol and do nothing.
Spent whole day yesterday to get my car tested. 10 am to 4:45 pm. Each test taking 10mins average as only one person is generating PSID, entering details for old regostred cars and then proceeding for confirmation.
The staff has no data package and asking people to share hotspot. The app stucks frequently. The staff is very punctual to take break at right 1pm and leave at 5pm sharp, but their reporting time is felxible with 30mins delay in morning and after lunch.
Total output of test point of Emporium was 18 cars before lunch and 20-22 cars after lunch.
Only request to CM and authorities.

On 11th November 2025 I visited Johar Town Emporium and Valencia Town Emission testing points where I saw long lines. People in que since 8-9 AM were relieved by staff at 4-5 PM. After 5 PM the government staff refused to carry out more work. The pace of work was very slow due to shortage of emission testing machines, deposit of fee, inadequate trained staff etc.
I think they should provide these Machines on multiple PSO pumps, so that it is easy and mandatory if customer need petrol they perform this test free first.
I got my car’s emission test done yesterday, and the fee was paid online. When I asked the staff conducting the test about its validity, I was informed that it is valid for one year.
However, when I checked the sticker details online today, it shows the validity as 31.12.2025. Since the fee is for a full year, I would like to understand why the validity appears to end next month instead of being valid for one year from the date of the test.
Same is the case with me. This shows that they are not clear themselves.

Since it is going to be a permanent system, the number of testing points should be increased. It will be ideal that to facilitate general public, it should be made mandatory for all petrol pumps to have an emission testing booths. The Govt should also ensure the availability quality of fuel at all fuel pumps.
Moreover the mega civil works being undertaken at present in Lahore should be planned to reduce the pollution.
Since its going to be regular affair and the vehicles are required to be tested again after every year or so, the number of testing points should be increased, keeping in view the total number of vehicles.
