The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has rolled out a comprehensive traffic management plan ahead of the upcoming One-Day and Tri-Nation Cricket Series at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Over 300 officers will be deployed across key routes in the federal capital to manage congestion and assist commuters.
Officials said the plan focuses on ensuring smooth team movements from Islamabad to the stadium while minimizing disruption for citizens. Alternate routes have been designated in case of temporary road closures:
- If Faisal Avenue is closed, motorists can use Srinagar Highway, Club Road via Faizabad, or Park Road via Lehtrar Road.
- If 9th Avenue is closed, travelers should take Sabzi Mandi Mor–Police Lines Chowk via Srinagar Highway, or from Rawalpindi, Golra Mor–Peshawar Mor–Srinagar Highway.
- Those traveling from Margalla Road toward Khanna can use Blue Area–Club Road–Lehtrar Road.
ITP officials will also be positioned on service roads to guide drivers and maintain traffic discipline. Authorities warned that traffic on the Expressway and Srinagar Highway may slow down during team movements, particularly during peak hours.
Commuters have been urged to allow extra travel time and exercise patience while the matches take place. The ITP assured the public that all efforts are being made to reduce inconvenience and ensure safe travel.

It will be more appropriate to consider considering building of new cricket ground near park society on lehtrar road or D.12 away from city.
