Samsung’s TriFold Foldable Full Specs and Launch Date Revealed

Samsung is expected to introduce its first tri-foldable smartphone next month, according to a report cited by well-known tipster Ice Universe. Although Samsung has kept the project quiet, the latest report outlines several key specifications for the upcoming device.

Design and Displays

The Galaxy Z TriFold will reportedly measure 4.2mm thick when unfolded and 14mm when folded. For comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold7 shares the same 4.2mm thickness when open but measures 8.9mm when closed, partly due to the slight gap at its hinge.

The new model is said to feature a 6.5-inch cover screen and a 10-inch inner display. Unlike the more square-shaped 8-inch panel on the Galaxy Z Fold7, the internal display on the Z TriFold will adopt a wide-screen layout.

Battery and Configuration

Samsung will reportedly equip the Galaxy Z TriFold with a 5,600mAh battery, divided into three separate cells, one for each segment of the foldable design. This marks a sizeable increase over the 4,400mAh dual-cell battery inside the Galaxy Z Fold7.

Limited Availability

A report from Korean outlet The Chosun supports both the expected launch date and the specifications. It also notes that Samsung will produce the Galaxy Z TriFold in limited quantities, and the device is expected to carry a high price tag. Availability will be restricted to specific markets, meaning many customers may not have the option to purchase it even if they are willing to pay the premium.

Samsung has so far only displayed prototype versions of the device publicly, but that may soon change. If the latest reports prove accurate, the company will formally unveil the Galaxy Z TriFold on December 5.
