Here’s How Drivers Can Cut Fuel Consumption by 20%

Rising petrol prices are prompting drivers in Islamabad to adopt smarter driving habits to reduce fuel consumption. Experts say that careful driving combined with routine vehicle maintenance can help motorists save significantly at the pump.

Mechanic Ustad Amir from Khadda Market advised drivers to accelerate smoothly, maintain a steady speed, and turn off engines at long traffic signals. “Drivers can save up to 20 percent of fuel by following these simple practices,” he said.

“I always tell my customers: treat your car like a tea kettle; don’t keep it boiling when you don’t need to.” Routine maintenance also plays a critical role.

Keeping tyres properly inflated, replacing worn tyres, cleaning air filters, and changing engine oil on schedule can improve mileage and reduce wastage. Many commuters are also combining errands, carpooling, and avoiding peak traffic hours to maximize fuel efficiency.

Experts recommend limiting air conditioner use, planning routes carefully, and minimizing unnecessary stops to further conserve fuel. These steps not only reduce expenses but also make driving safer and more efficient.

  • This article is so sad and pathetic that the writer lost any credibility they had even to begin with

No you can’t save fuel. Bcz it requires having a hybrid which costs millions now thanks to govt taxes.

No you can’t save fuel bcz you’re stuck in traffic which consumes additional fuel if you need heating or cooling depending on the weather.

What’s next ? Start dieting bcz price of food is high ?

Before French revolution, people used to talk exactly like this.

  • Let’s check the entire article

Replacing tires cost 12000 per tire so that’s 50000 rs
Oil change and filer every 2 months cost 9000rs atleast . So that’s 36000 annual

So if I don’t save any rs month . I end up spending 90000rs

If my tires wore out due to road conditions. I have to pay 10000 rs annually on that as well

So where is the saving ? I used official rates btw
