Pakistan Railways has recovered Rs 860,740 during a sweeping crackdown on passengers traveling without tickets, following a series of continuous inspections led by Deputy Chief Commercial Manager Passenger Nasir Nazir.
Railway officials said the Headquarters Ticketless Checking Squad, working under Nazir’s supervision, carried out surprise inspections on multiple trains across the country. Teams took action against 345 passengers found traveling without valid tickets.
The operation covered major sections including Lahore–Sahiwal, Sahiwal–Khanewal, Lahore–Faisalabad, Faisalabad–Shorkot, and Khanewal–Rohri.
Authorities conducted checks on several key trains, among them Allama Iqbal Express, Tezgam, Khyber Mail, Awam Express, Pakistan Express, Shalimar Express, Millat Express, and Rehman Baba Express.
Nasir Nazir said the crackdown will continue as part of the department’s efforts to safeguard revenue and curb fare evasion. He added that the campaign follows directives issued by Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, Pakistan Railways CEO Amir Ali Baloch, and Chief Commercial Manager Tariq Anwar Sipra.

Pakistan railways is one organisation which requires thorough audits by reputable audit unit. These organisations were made by English man and since then we have looted it both hands, all those working in it are millionaire and blame is put on to general public for non payments.. These organization are meant for the public as a welfare measure but it’s benefits are given to Admins and political people. Stop looting the poor and Railways ve given its due care.
Pakistan Railways must be treated as commercial as pre partition. There was a time when railways was a one of the finest enterprise. Rail compartments and staff were always clean and shine. Trains were run on dead in time. This was a great revenue earning department. Then unfortunately decline started like PIA through political enterferance like nepotism. This started decline in railways and thus today. Current action by those responsible is highly appreciated and should be carried on.
Trillions of rupees are being stolen from the Pak Railways yet no action. First of all check your trains, totally broken, no facilities, and on top the fares are sky high. Economy ticket of Karachi Express from Lahore to Multan is 1860RS where Faisal movers is offering a seat in 2000RS. Enlighten us on this absurd fare.
