Pakistan’s tennis icon Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi has received a prestigious honour from the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), celebrating his remarkable career, global impact, and decades-long service to the sport.
The ceremony took place in Turin, Italy, during the Nitto ATP Finals, where the ATP paid tribute to the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) President and several other players who spent at least five years inside the world’s Top 10 doubles rankings.
Aisam, one of Pakistan’s most decorated athletes, was presented with a commemorative shield — yet another milestone in a career that has inspired countless young Pakistanis to dream beyond borders.
His career remains one of the most extraordinary stories in Pakistan’s sporting landscape. Despite the lack of tennis infrastructure in the country, he secured 18 ATP Tour doubles titles, including two Masters 1000 trophies, and rose to the highest levels of the global circuit.
He also stands in elite company as one of only four players in history to win the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award twice, recognition of his unmatched commitment to charity, peace diplomacy, and using tennis as a bridge between cultures.
Speaking at the ceremony, an emotional Aisam said the moment felt surreal. “To be here today is an incredible feeling. Growing up as a kid in Pakistan, I never imagined my career would take me this far,” he said.
He reflected on sharing courts with the world’s best players and competing in the highest-level tournaments year after year. “Playing against the greatest, competing in the biggest events, and qualifying for the Nitto ATP Finals four times — it has all been amazing. It feels like a complete journey.”
For Pakistan, Aisam remains more than a tennis star — he is a pioneer who broke barriers, carried the national flag to all corners of the tennis world, and laid the pathway for future generations. ATP’s recognition is yet another reminder of the legacy he leaves behind.
