Pakistan Railways on Friday inaugurated the upgraded new rake of the 125-Up and 126-Down Lasani Express, introducing improved passenger coaches on the Lahore–Narowal–Sialkot route.
At the ceremony, Additional General Manager Mechanical Yousaf Khan said the upgrade aligns with the railways’ plan to modernize operations under the directions of Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi. He said the new rake will offer safer, more comfortable, and higher-quality travel for passengers.
Khan said thousands of daily commuters between Lahore and Sialkot will benefit from the new coaches. He added that Pakistan Railways plans to introduce more modern rakes for other trains in the coming months as part of its broader improvement strategy.
After the ceremony, the AGM inspected the upgraded rake and met with passengers. He instructed officials to further improve onboard services, enhance seating comfort, and maintain strict cleanliness standards.
A large number of railway officers, staff members, and passengers attended the inauguration.
Upgrade both tracks and trains because trains run on tracks that are very fragile now.
Every train such as Green Train considers as the best, has minimum delay time of 2 hours in most cases.
For other trains it is more than 4 to 5 hours delays from scheduled time in normal situations no train, track, flood, closure and any other issue.
Safety first. Track reconstruction/rehabilitation should be top priority. No more derailing incident/ accident acceptable. No more blame game. Someone should be accountable for daily delays exceeding 15 minutes. Hanif abbasi sahib to ensure that time lines are met without any excuses. System corruption unavoidable but should be contained to the extent possible.

This is really a nice step for the upgrading of the train coaches.If we see India or other countries their railway system is far better than ours.My advise is put in more efforts to improve Pakistan Railways this will attract more passengers and also restart the cargo service this will earn tremendous revenues. Wish Railways more success.

Your attention is also required for Karachi Quetta sevtion. Passengers normally give preference to travel by bus, only due to worst condition of wrecks as well as track conditions.
Families prefer to travel by train if they have better facilities and environment.

A year ago i went to Chishtian for a funeral and i was surprised to see the situation of Railway System, that there were no railway, no Control room, even no cemented slippers of Track, every thing which relates to Railway is removed from the soil plateform which was seen in early past. Same situation was at North West (Subcontinent) Railway i.e. jhung Sakhi Sultan and other nearer areas
