Prices of pine nuts (chilghoza) have recorded a 50 to 60 percent decrease this year.
The price of one kilogram previously ranged between Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 18,000, but this season it has fallen to Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 9,000 per kg. In Balochistan’s Zhob and Sherani districts, pine nuts were even sold for Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 5,000 per kg.
Farmers and traders in Balochistan say the sharp decline in prices is largely due to the closure of the Pakistan-Afghanistan border and insufficient rainfall. Traders added that whatever the reason may be, consumers are taking full advantage of the lower prices.
Experts say pine nuts lose weight if they are not kept in cold storage, and due to the lack of cold storage facilities in Balochistan, traders are forced to sell pine nuts at reduced rates.

Last year they were easily available for 8k to 9k who were buying for 15k or 19k?
A Good news for pakis after 8 February election
Yeh jo good news tw nay likha hay. Pata bhi tery baap boot walo nay chalgozay ugana shuru kar diay hain is laiy baki sab ka qarobar thap karna zarori hay. .boot chatoo. Lagay raho
bought 8200 last year
Lucky you. Meine 5 saal se khaye hii nai hain 😋
We should boycott like this kind of things then who will buy no one so stand together for inflation as well
If something like this costs 15000 then it should never be bought at all
Who decided to place such high costs onto consumer for something this common ?
It shouldn’t even be 4000.
If that’s the cost then the sellers should suffer.
Majority of Pakistani people don’t eat point nuts for health benefits but for only taste. If Ordinary man can get very good amount of money from other countries it not only better for common Ordinary people but also for whole nation.
Still very expensive
Achi baat hai, inn logon ne loot maar mchai hui thi
Alhamdullillah zinda hain abhi tak.. Nahi khayenge aagay bhee..
These are unrealistic rates only due to exports.. That too done without duties.. So total illegal trade.
Why linking storage facilities with decrease in price? Please don’t mix things.
I think chilgoza should be traded with peanuts. We the pothoharians sell our peanuts so cheap to GB and Balochis i.e. 500-800 per kg.
I never test this expensive nut whole life. Not joking. Still Naujawan at 60.
Don’t take it and don’t eat maybe too much expired, don’t take risk for your life
Fazool cheez, 6000 bhi bohat zyada hai. Moong Phali 🥜 zindabad
Aise Nahin kahate gandu kutte ke bacche Allah Ki niyamat hai Allah Ki
Koi kahta hai niyamat Allah ke
Way overpriced for a third world country. Now it’s returning to more realistic price. Traders aren’t robbed; they have already made unnecessary profits in the past. I remember how cheap it used to be 40-45 years back, roughly like other nuts.
I will purchase last year in chilas 6k
sub kuch theek ha per is rate per mil kahan rha ha ?
