Major Road in Karachi Gets Dedicated Ambulance Lane

Karachi has activated its first dedicated ambulance lane to improve emergency response times, marking a major step toward safer and faster medical access in the city. The new lane is now operational on Mansfield Street in Saddar, one of the busiest commercial areas in Karachi.

Deputy Commissioner South Javed Nabi Khoso said the administration aims to ensure uninterrupted movement for emergency vehicles. He stressed that protecting citizens’ lives and improving access for ambulances remain top priorities for the district.

Khoso also announced that more dedicated ambulance lanes will be introduced on other major roads in District South. He said these routes will help reduce delays caused by traffic congestion and support quicker medical response during emergencies.

The initiative has been widely welcomed as an important improvement in Karachi’s emergency infrastructure. Officials say the dedicated lanes will particularly benefit overcrowded commercial zones where ambulances often struggle to move through heavy traffic.
