Poco Pad X1 and M1 Debut: 144Hz Displays, Massive Batteries, and AI Features Starting Under $350

Poco unveiled its latest products yesterday, including the new Poco F8 series smartphones and two tablets: the Poco Pad X1 and the Pad M1. These tablets come with competitive specs designed to appeal to users looking for high-performance, multimedia-focused devices, but at a budget price.

Design and Display

The Poco Pad X1 features a large 11.2-inch LCD, offering a 3.2K resolution with a 144Hz refresh rate, 800 nits of peak brightness, and support for HDR10 and Dolby Vision. The screen also includes a Sunlight mode for better visibility under direct sunlight.

Poco Pad M1

On the other hand, the Poco Pad M1 features a slightly larger 12.1-inch LCD panel, offering a 2.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Its peak brightness reaches up to 600 nits (HBM), and like the X1, it also supports Dolby Vision and Sunlight mode.

Both tablets feature a sleek design, with the Pad X1 being just 6.18mm thin and weighing 500g, while the Pad M1 is slightly thicker at 7.5mm and weighs 610g. Both are available in Blue and Grey color options.

Internals and Software

The Poco Pad X1 is powered by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset, paired with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. It runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2, featuring AI-driven enhancements, and offers Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4 for fast connectivity.

The Poco Pad M1 is equipped with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset and features 8GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, with the option to expand storage via a microSD card. Like the Pad X1, the Pad M1 also runs on HyperOS 2, providing AI features and connectivity with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4.

Poco Pad X1

The Poco Pad X1 is equipped with a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.

The Poco Pad M1 has a similar camera setup, featuring an 8MP rear camera and another 8MP front camera for video calls and selfies.

Battery and Pricing

The Poco Pad X1 features an 8,850 mAh battery with 45W fast charging support, providing extended use for media consumption and productivity tasks.

The Poco Pad M1 is equipped with a larger 12,000 mAh battery, supporting 33W fast charging, ensuring longer usage times as well.

Both tablets come with quad speakers with Dolby Atmos for an immersive sound experience. The Poco Pad X1 is priced at $399 for the 8GB/512GB variant, and the Poco Pad M1 comes in at $329 for its 8GB/256GB model.

Poco also introduced a new Floating Keyboard accessory for the Pad X1, priced at $199. Additional accessories, such as a cover, standard keyboard, and the Poco Focus Pen, are also available for both tablets.
