Rs. 100 Billion Projects Launched to Transform Provincial Capital

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has announced a Rs100 billion development package aimed at restoring Peshawar’s historical prominence and upgrading its urban infrastructure.

Chairing a high-level meeting with current and former provincial and national lawmakers from Peshawar, the CM outlined an action plan to improve civic amenities, expand infrastructure, and accelerate the city’s long-delayed development projects.

Senior political leaders and administrative officials attended the session.

Afridi said a “grand meeting” would soon be convened to fast-track mega projects across the provincial capital. “Peshawar is the face of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

Its development and beautification cannot be delayed,” he stated, reaffirming the government’s commitment to rebuilding the city.

A major public gathering is scheduled for December 7 in Peshawar to mobilise political and public support for the development agenda.

Officials discussed administrative coordination, stakeholder engagement, and swift project execution during the meeting.

The provincial government plans to prioritise large-scale infrastructure upgrades, transport improvements, urban planning reforms, and enhanced civic services under the Rs. 100 billion package.

Close monitoring and periodic evaluations will ensure transparency and timely completion.

Afridi said the initiative aims to deliver “tangible improvements” to residents and transform Peshawar into a modern, sustainable, and prosperous urban centre.
