ZTE’s Nubia sub-brand is launching two foldables back-to-back. Alongside the Nubia Flip 3, which we have already covered in a separate article, the Chinese phone maker has also unveiled its very first book-style foldable at nearly half the price of Samsung’s iteration, the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
The nubia Fold features an 8-inch main display with a resolution of 2,480 x 2,200 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The outer screen is a 6.5-inch panel offering 2,748 x 1,172 pixels and the same 120Hz refresh rate. The main panel also supports split-view modes for selected apps.
When unfolded, the device measures 144 x 160 x 5.4mm. Folded, it becomes 11.1mm thick and weighs 249 grams. It carries an IP54 rating for basic dust and water protection. It only comes in black.
Powering the nubia Fold is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset from last year, paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The phone runs Android 15 out of the box.
The rear camera system includes a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 5MP macro unit. The phone also provides two 20MP selfie cameras, one on the inner display and one on the cover screen.
The nubia Fold houses a 6,560 mAh battery with support for 55W fast charging. It is available in a single black color and is priced at JPY 178,560, which equals $1,145.
The foldable will launch in Japan on December 4, with an international rollout expected sometime in 2026.
