CDA Hires Consultant to Decide Fate of Islamabad’s Illegal Housing Societies

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has appointed a consultant to evaluate whether Islamabad’s illegal and unplanned colonies should be regularised or demolished, according to 24NewsHD TV.

The regularisation process will start with commercial properties in rural and older colonies. The consultant’s role includes compiling detailed data on Islamabad’s rural areas, old settlements, and illegal colonies.

Based on this data, the consultant will present recommendations to the CDA regarding the colonies’ future. Additionally, the consultant will propose measures to expand the CDA’s jurisdiction to cover rural Islamabad, aiming to strengthen urban planning and governance in these areas.
