The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has urged citizens to collect their Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) from NADRA offices within the specified timeframe to avoid complications.
Under the updated policy, CNICs not collected within three months of the designated delivery date will be permanently discarded, requiring applicants to reapply and pay fees.
NADRA encouraged citizens to use the Pak-ID mobile app or opt for home delivery to receive CNICs directly, minimizing visits to offices.
In related updates, the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports, in collaboration with NADRA, introduced a new fingerprint confirmation system for passport applications.
Applicants can now confirm fingerprints through the Pak-ID app anytime, anywhere, and use the facial recognition feature if fingerprint verification fails.
To apply for a new passport, citizens should visit the online portal and, at the fingerprint verification step, log in to the Pak-ID app, select “Online Passport,” and complete biometric and facial recognition verification using their passport tracking ID and CNIC number.
