The Secretary of the School Education Department has reportedly abolished Saturday holidays, directing that offices will remain open on both Saturdays and Sundays.
According to officials, the School Education Department has reportedly issued instructions to all subordinate institutions to implement the decision with immediate effect.
Heads of 10 attached departments have been directed to comply. The instructions have reportedly been sent to all Directorates of Public Instruction (DPIs), the Children’s Library Complex, PEMA, and PECTA.
It has also been reported that PECTA and PEMA will brief the Secretary Schools on working arrangements and operational matters.
Sources said the newly appointed Secretary of Schools has formally informed all subordinate institutions about the revised working schedule to ensure improved coordination and performance.
