Authorities in Punjab have announced strict action against vehicle owners who fail to pay e-challans, 24NewsHD reported on Tuesday.
The Safe City Authority has prepared lists of vehicles with unpaid e-challans. Despite multiple fines issued to hundreds of thousands of cars and motorcycles, payments have not been made.
Under the new crackdown, local police will conduct raids to arrest defaulters and ensure e-challan payments are deposited.
The Safe City Authority will continue identifying violators using cameras and will notify the police accordingly.
The operation against non-paying vehicle owners is set to begin in the coming days.

Those who don’t pay fines, the vehicle should be taken into government custody.
I am really looking forward to these habitual criminal offenders being hit hard.
You’ll be surprised to learn how absurd implementation of law is in this country. Neither extreme is desirable

Putting carts before horses as usual. The government does not fix the confused urban planning of city streets that leads to traffic violation or the does proper timely maintenance of damaged roads or impose stricter regulations on private transporters who literally don’t even know traffic rules or even hold government contractors accountable for streets renovated after 10 to 20 years of neglect only to once again be dug up for city works and then left in an unusable state. But as soon as they find a matter involving punishing citizens for trying to adapt to the deplorable state the government has left the cities in, they treat citizens like it’s entirely our fault. In its current state e-challan system is not going to improve anything but add to the frustration of citizens who are already victimized by “bribe bureaucracy”. Where are the citizens supposed to appeal when they are wrongfully fined and forced to run from one office to another to appeal?
Good job Punjab Govt and Traffic 🚦 Police.
Citizens can avoid such hassle by abiding the law and prove themselves as a good litterate citizens of Pakistan.
Think Positive – Act Positive

Those guys will find people who don’t even know they’ve been fined….
The Govt can can the driving licence on non payment of challan but how come they arrest an e-challan defaulter. The Govt is not sincere in fixing the behaviours of individual but sucking more blood of pubic through any available mean
More hundred time reconsidrr to go beyond all ground realzation limits it may become playing with fire becareful
This is not only e chalkan but “charand” also
It’s sheer harassment to the public,it’s violation of public right, and fundamental rights
A way of gathering money. Govt. has gathered money by doing challan of thousands. A way of gathering money by people. On the other hand, they have already put heavy taxes on people. Then they say we are making a bridge for you people….. Ridiculous!
I think so this is very good for heavy fines. Same people visit in UAE follow the rules.regarding behavior also will change day by day. This is first step heavy fines. Inshallah Day by day everything will be fine.
UK earns billions for over speeding more than 30 miles speed on the specific roads where the school and hospitals are situated.
So why poor people riders in Lahore only? Why not the govt. take action against Cars in posh areas and against drugy drivers?
There is no Law against rich stupid drivers who kill hundreds on the roads?
F**k off the policies on it

App kesi b warden waly k paas jay us se apni psid generate krway then pay your echallan

Does a State which not prosecute the killer of two innocent girls has any legitimate authority to punish citizens for violating rules!!!
What if people can’t pay owing to other inflationary problems prevailing all over Pakistan. As it is consumers are already overtaxed and heavily billed for gas and electricity?
The one with no number plate will never be caught
Good 👍
In case of non payment of e’chalans, of there should be increase of 10 percent for first month .Then it should keep on doubling
every month.
That should be exclusive to you, as you are happy with the current status.

The E Chalan system is new and nation needs time to adjust with it. But it is cruelsome, as well. The fines imposed are frequent and beyond the means of the common citizen. These penalties must be reverted to their previous amounts to make compliance possible by the citizens. People are unable to takeout vehicles being unable to pay traffic chalans and they opt not to pay when find it difficult to pay.
In comments, some individuals are using the issue of unpaid fines merely to malign Pakistan and to vent their personal biasness. If they choose to live in this country, they must accept its systems; otherwise, they should leave instead of attacking the country ..they critiize the country while this system is not even implemented nationwide and is in Punjab so far.
Another gimmick to show… the country has any law, the primary motive still remain to generate revenue to cover up the continued wastages.
What about those intoxicated, killing people on the streets & going home without even a challan.
There is no mechanism to intimate people that they are fined. The vehicle registration authority-Excise has contact numbers of vehicles owners. Why intimation sms is not sent to people when issuing challans.
Injustice. Yes fine is OK but raiding? That’s not ok?
People Who violate traffic should be punished in Punjab/Pakistan. Use of Safe City cameras is excellent to take vivid pictures of of wrong doers. But in case any of car snatching/docait searching the same cameras unable to take any useful picture. Those who commit offences are also liable to be put be in jails.
