Over 100 Illegal Immigrants Arrested at Coastal Border

Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) have arrested 123 illegal immigrants from Jiwani port city in Balochistan during the past two months.

According to a PCG spokesperson, the individuals were traveling illegally between Pakistan and Iran without valid documents or legal travel permits.

After initial interrogation, all detainees were handed over to the Federal Investigation Agency for further investigation and legal proceedings.

The spokesperson said that the Pakistan Coast Guard will continue such operations regularly to curb human smuggling and will use all available resources to eliminate the practice.

Earlier, Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Mohsin Naqvi held an important meeting with his Iraqi counterpart General Abdul Ameer Al-Shammari to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation and improving facilities for Pakistani pilgrims traveling to Iraq.

Both ministers discussed establishing long-term and effective coordination between their interior ministries. They agreed to enhance cooperation to ensure smooth arrangements for pilgrims and to strengthen overall security collaboration.

The Iraqi Interior Minister praised Pakistan’s recent steps to formally organize and regulate pilgrim groups. He said that such effective actions had been taken for the first time under the current administration.

He assured that all pilgrims included in the list provided by Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior would be allowed entry into Iraq.

Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that Pakistani pilgrims would not be allowed to overstay beyond the approved period. He added that institutions in both countries would remain in close contact to ensure compliance and smooth coordination.
