Chinese Airline to Increase Number of Flights to Major Pakistani City

China Southern Airlines is set to expand its operations between China and Pakistan by increasing the frequency of flights on the Guangzhou–Lahore route.

From January 1, the airline will begin operating daily flights between Guangzhou and Lahore using an Airbus A330 aircraft. At present, China Southern operates five flights per week on this route with a Boeing 787, and the move to daily operations is expected to improve connectivity and passenger capacity between the two cities.

The increased frequency is likely to benefit business travelers, students, and tourists, while also supporting growing trade and people-to-people links between Pakistan and China.

In another development, air connectivity between Pakistan and Sri Lanka is also set to improve. From January 20, Sri Lankan low-cost carrier FitsAir will launch twice-weekly flights between Colombo and Lahore. The airline will operate the route every Tuesday and Saturday using an Airbus A320 aircraft.
