Motorcyclists remained the leading violators of traffic laws across Punjab in 2025, according to data released by Punjab Traffic Police.
The statistics show that traffic police issued more than 6 million challans to motorcyclists across the province during the year. In Lahore alone, authorities issued more than 2.32 million challans to motorcycle riders.
A traffic police spokesperson said police issued over 2.16 million challans for riding motorcycles without a valid driving license. Authorities also fined more than 1.58 million riders for not wearing helmets.
Police issued over 314,000 challans for one-way violations and more than 400,000 challans for carrying more than two passengers on a motorcycle.
DIG Traffic Punjab Muhammad Waqas Nazir said motorcycles make up the largest share of registered vehicles in the province, making motorcyclists a key factor in overall traffic discipline.
He said traffic police recorded the most noticeable improvement in organized traffic behavior among motorcyclists during 2025.
According to the DIG, helmet use across Punjab increased by 88 percent during the year. He said this increase led to an 82 percent reduction in head injury cases. He added that authorities also observed clear improvement in lane discipline on roads across the province.
