Pakistan Army officer Colonel Nabeel Ahmed Rana has been elected as the new President of the Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF) following Executive Committee and General Council meetings held in Islamabad.
According to officials, former PTF president Lt Col (R) Raja Wasim Ahmed formally proposed Col Nabeel’s name for the top post during the joint session.
Representatives from provincial associations, departments, and service organizations then individually endorsed the nomination, giving him unanimous backing and signaling a rare show of unity within the federation’s ranks.
The change at the top follows the departure of Lt Col (R) Raja Wasim Ahmed, who stepped down after the Pakistan Sports Board issued a final warning over alleged violations of the national sports policy.
Col Nabeel currently serves as Secretary, Army Fitness and Sports Directorate, and is reportedly regarded for his strong command over sports administration and effective organisational management.
PTF officials and council members described his elevation as a “positive step” toward improving discipline, planning, and institutional strength in taekwondo across Pakistan.
Addressing members after his election, Col Nabeel thanked the house for its confidence and pledged to lead with “commitment, vision, and determination.”
He said his focus would be on lifting Pakistan taekwondo to new levels of performance at home and on the international stage, with an emphasis on better structures, stronger athlete development pathways, and improved representation at global events.

proud of our Army
Let give all civilian positions to them and let the civilian youth remain unemployed and die with hunger
Among the 230 million population, he was the only competent person available. Sad state of affairs.
It’s really disgusting that our armed forces involved in petty benefits rather then focus on the real issues of Pakistan they only way the can get respect
Hahahaha like Taekwondo masters are not suited for this position !!!
