Former Pakistani Fast Bowler Named in USA T20 World Cup Squad

Former Pakistan fast bowler Ehsan Adil is set to continue his cricket career with the United States men’s national cricket team.

The 32-year-old, who previously represented the Pakistan national cricket team in nine international matches, has been selected in the United States squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

Although the USA cricket board has yet to make an official announcement, reports suggest that the squad for the 2026 T20 World Cup has already been finalised. According to these reports, an 18-member team has been named for an upcoming tour of Sri Lanka.

The tour will feature a five-match T20 series against the Sri Lanka A cricket team, with Ehsan included in the travelling squad.

Senior journalist Peter Della Penna has reported that this squad is expected to remain unchanged for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka from 7 February to 8 March 2026.

Ehsan made his Test debut for Pakistan in February 2013 against the South Africa national cricket team in Centurion. He went on to play two more Tests and six One-Day Internationals for Pakistan until 2015, taking five wickets in Tests and four in ODIs.

Earlier in his career, he was part of Pakistan’s squad for the ICC Men’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup in Australia.

At the domestic level, Ehsan enjoyed a long and consistent career across formats, playing 67 first-class matches (245 wickets), 67 List A matches (98 wickets), and 68 T20 matches (86 wickets) between March 2012 and October 2021.

He was also included in Pakistan’s squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup, co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand. His final appearance for Pakistan came in the quarterfinal against the Australia national cricket team at Adelaide, a match Australia won by six wickets.
