Punjab Announces Free E-Bikes and Laptops for 100,000 Students

The Punjab government has announced the provision of free motorcycles and laptops for 100,000 students as part of a major initiative to support education and youth empowerment across the province.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz made the announcement while addressing participants of the National Workshop Balochistan.

She said the initiative is aimed at helping deserving and talented students who struggle with transportation and access to modern learning tools, stressing that the youth are the country’s most valuable asset.

The chief minister said the distribution will be carried out strictly on merit under existing student-focused programs, including the Honahaar Scholarship scheme. She added that Punjab’s educational institutions are open to students from all provinces, noting that learners from across the country are currently studying in the province.

Maryam Nawaz also highlighted a series of welfare and development projects underway in Punjab. These include the construction of affordable housing for low-income families, free delivery of medicines to patients’ homes, and expanded healthcare services, including specialized treatment facilities for children with special needs.

She further pointed to improvements in public transport and infrastructure, such as electric buses operating in Lahore, low-cost green bus services, and the expansion of transport facilities throughout the province.

The chief minister reiterated her government’s commitment to merit, transparency, and public service, adding that more youth-centered initiatives will be introduced in the near future.
