Pakistan’s young batting sensation Sameer Minhas delivered a historic performance in the final of the U19 Tri-Nation Series in Harare, leading his side to a dominant victory over Zimbabwe and etching his name into the Youth ODI record books.
Batting first, Zimbabwe were bowled out for 158 runs in 44.4 overs. Pakistan’s bowling attack remained in control throughout the innings, with Umar Zaib producing an outstanding spell.
The right-arm pacer claimed four wickets for just 20 runs in seven overs, playing a key role in restricting the hosts to a modest total.
Pakistan’s chase was swift and ruthless. The target was overhauled in only 16.2 overs, largely due to an explosive innings from Sameer Minhas. The young batter smashed a breathtaking 114 off 51 balls, laced with 17 boundaries and five sixes.
During the innings, Minhas reached his century in just 42 balls, setting a new world record for the fastest hundred in Youth One-Day International cricket. His knock eclipsed the previous mark of 52 balls held by India’s Vaibhav Suryavanshi.
Pakistan sealed the final by nine wickets, capping off the tournament in emphatic fashion and underlining the promise of their emerging talent, with Sameer Minhas’ record-breaking knock standing out as the defining moment of the series.
