Karachi is likely to experience a colder spell, as the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts a further drop in night-time temperatures over the weekend.
A PMD spokesperson said the city’s minimum temperature could fall to around 9 degrees Celsius on the night between Saturday and Sunday. From Thursday onward, night temperatures are expected to remain between 10 and 11 degrees Celsius before declining further over the weekend.
The spokesperson said residents may feel colder conditions due to persistent north-easterly winds blowing across Karachi and nearby areas, which are lowering the apparent temperature.
The Met Office ruled out any chance of rainfall in Karachi and other parts of Sindh over the next 10 days. Dry weather is expected to continue across the province, particularly during night and early morning hours.
The PMD spokesperson added that a western weather system may affect the upper regions of the country around January 18 or 19. However, it remains unclear whether the system will impact Sindh, and a clearer forecast will be issued later.
