English National League Club Signs Pakistan’s Star Winger

Pakistan’s star footballer Otis Khan has signed a permanent deal with Altrincham FC, joining the National League side on an 18-month contract.

The 30-year-old winger, who has represented Pakistan at the international level on 12 occasions, becomes Altrincham’s latest addition as manager Neil Gibson continues to strengthen his squad.

Khan could make his debut for Altrincham in the away fixture against Hartlepool United on Saturday, 17 January.

Otis Khan brings significant experience, having made more than 200 Football League appearances during his career. He is known as a versatile winger with an eye for goal and the ability to play in more central positions.

Manager Neil Gibson said he was delighted to secure Khan’s signature, highlighting his experience, leadership, and technical ability.

Born in Ashton-under-Lyne, Khan spent 10 years in the academy of Manchester United before moving to Sheffield United’s youth system in 2012.

He made his senior debut for Sheffield United in March 2014 and later had loan spells, including a productive period at Barrow AFC, where he scored four goals in eight matches.

After leaving Sheffield United in 2016, Khan signed for Barnsley FC, followed by spells at Yeovil Town and Mansfield Town, where he scored twice on his debut against Newport County.

In 2020, he joined Tranmere Rovers and started in the 2021 EFL Trophy final at Wembley, which Tranmere lost 1-0 to Sunderland AFC. He later played for Walsall FC and Leyton Orient.

In July 2022, Khan signed for Grimsby Town and was part of the side that reached the FA Cup quarter-finals for the first time since 1939. After leaving Grimsby in 2024, he joined Oldham Athletic before finishing the season on loan at Yeovil.

Most recently, Khan had a brief spell overseas with Malaysian club Kelantan Red Warrior before returning to England to complete his move to Altrincham.
