HP Unveils a Full Windows AI PC Built Into a Keyboard

HP has introduced a new form factor at CES 2026 with the launch of the EliteBoard G1a, a Windows PC integrated entirely into a keyboard. The company describes it as the world’s first full AI PC in a keyboard, and the device has been named a CES 2026 Innovation Award Honoree.

PC Inside a Keyboard

The EliteBoard G1a uses a full-size keyboard design that measures up to 17mm thick and weighs under 750 grams. Despite its compact form, the keyboard houses dual microphones and stereo speakers, positioning it as a complete computing device rather than a peripheral.

AMD Ryzen AI

HP has equipped the EliteBoard G1a with AMD Ryzen AI 300 series processors, delivering more than 50 TOPS of neural processing performance. Graphics are handled by integrated Radeon 800M series GPUs.

The system supports user-upgradable DDR5 SODIMM memory and M.2 NVMe storage, allowing users to expand RAM and storage after purchase.

Connectivity and Cooling Design

For wired connections, the EliteBoard G1a includes one USB 4.0 port and one USB 3.2 Gen 2 port, both supporting power delivery and video output. Wireless connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0.

Cooling is managed through intake vents on the underside of the keyboard, paired with a single internal fan and rear exhaust vents.

Software, Battery, and Optional Features

The device runs Windows 11 and includes a dedicated Copilot key for AI-related functions. HP also offers an optional built-in 32Wh battery, which the company says can provide up to 3.5 hours of use. A 65W USB-C power adapter is included.

Additional optional features include a fingerprint sensor with an integrated power button and a tethered USB-C cable designed to secure the keyboard to a desk.

Availability

HP confirmed that the EliteBoard G1a will be available for purchase starting in March. Pricing details have not yet been announced.
