David Warner Compares Pakistani Pacer to a 4-Year-Old

A lighthearted moment from the Sydney Thunder vs Brisbane Heat clash in the 2025/26 Big Bash League (BBL 15) has taken over social media after David Warner cracked a joke about Pakistani fast bowler Zaman Khan’s low release point.

While batting during Thunder’s innings at The Gabba, Warner was heard joking with the umpires that Zaman’s action, with the ball coming out from a very low height and skidding through, reminded him of “a four-year-old bowling.”

Zaman Khan is currently with the Brisbane Heat as a mid-season replacement for injured Pakistan quick Shaheen Afridi. On the night, he had a tough outing, conceding 32 runs in three overs without taking a wicket as Thunder posted 180/6.

Despite the jokes, Warner’s batting was anything but playful for the opposition. The Thunder captain chose to bat first after winning the toss, and top-scored with 82 off 56 balls, hitting eight fours and three sixes. He also shared a key stand with Sam Billings, adding 84 runs in 50 balls for the third wicket, before Warner’s innings ended via a run-out.

Thunder, however, couldn’t fully cash in at the death and finished at 180/6. For Heat, Matt Renshaw picked up two wickets, while Xavier Bartlett, Matthew Kuhnemann, and Thomas Balington claimed one each.

In reply, Brisbane Heat made the chase look comfortable. Jack Wildermuth and Usman Khawaja blasted 57 in 23 balls up front, with Wildermuth striking 39 off 15. After a brief contribution from Nathan McSweeney (12), Khawaja and Renshaw put the game out of reach with a 93-run partnership.

Khawaja fell with the finish line in sight after an impressive 78 off 48, while Renshaw remained unbeaten on 42 off 26. The chase ended in style when Max Bryant launched the first ball he faced for six, as Heat won with 22 balls to spare.
