Nvidia to Increase Supply for These GPUs, But is Also Cutting Back Some of Them

NVIDIA had recently announced that it will be raising prices for its RTX 5000 series GPUs due to a severe lack of supply and production. Now the latest rumor predicts that Nvidia will soon be increasing supply for some of its RTX 5000 series GPUs while cutting back on others.

Sadly, the GPUs expected to get an increased supply from Nvidia are some of the most hated GPUs: the 8 GB RTX 5000 graphics cards. Gamers are typically not fond of these GPUs due to the severe 8 GB VRAM bottleneck that holds back the raw power of these GPUs by a significant amount.

NVIDIA is reportedly planning to increase the market supply of its GeForce RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB graphics cards, according to Board Channels. This is because ongoing VRAM shortages are making it difficult for the company to maintain strong availability of its 16 GB GPU models.

As a result, NVIDIA is said to be adjusting its supply strategy for the RTX 50 series. The company is expected to push sales of its 8 GB variants, while significantly reducing the availability of higher-memory models such as the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB and RTX 5070 Ti 16 GB.

The RTX 5060 8 GB is expected to receive the largest share of production, with the RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB also being manufactured in higher volumes than its 16 GB counterpart. However, it remains unclear when this new strategy will officially take effect.

The report also notes that GPU prices are already rising in some regions. Previous reports have indicated that both AMD and NVIDIA GPUs are set to become significantly more expensive this quarter. The latest information suggests that prices may continue to climb into the second quarter as well.

2026 is clearly not going to be a good year for gamers.
