The UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) has launched a new initiative that grants automatic recognition to degrees issued by 34 UAE-based universities.
The ministry announced on Wednesday that the program forms the first phase of a nationwide system designed to simplify and accelerate qualification recognition for graduates.
Under the new mechanism, students who complete their studies at participating institutions will receive immediate official recognition of their degrees without submitting additional documents or undergoing lengthy verification procedures.
Officials said the initiative supports the UAE government’s goal of reducing bureaucracy, enhancing digital services, and improving efficiency across the higher education sector.
Since its introduction, more than 25,000 graduates have already benefited from the service.
The ministry confirmed that the system will later expand to include Emirati students studying abroad under government-supervised scholarships, allowing them to access the same seamless recognition process.
MoHESR stated that the new system helps graduates meet employment, residency, and visa requirements more easily, while enabling faster entry into postgraduate studies or professional careers.
Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Higher Education Operations Ahmad Yousuf Al Nasser said the initiative reflects the ministry’s commitment to flexible, digitally driven services that align with labor market needs.
The automatic recognition process uses a secure digital verification system based on QR codes, allowing government entities and employers to confirm qualifications instantly.
Previously, graduates had to submit physical documents and wait for manual approvals before their degrees were recognized. The new platform eliminates these delays and creates a faster, paperless procedure.
Authorities described the initiative as a major step toward the UAE’s broader digital transformation strategy and its vision of an efficient, technology-driven government.
