Senate Approves Bill to Include Reproductive Health Education in Curriculum

The Senate has approved a bill to make reproductive health education part of the national curriculum.

Under the new legislation, students aged 14 and above will receive structured education on reproductive health in schools. The bill defines reproductive health education as knowledge related to physical, mental, and social well-being.

The law requires schools to obtain written consent from parents before providing any instruction on reproductive health to students.

The bill also directs relevant authorities to ensure that textbooks include age-appropriate content on reproductive health while preparing the curriculum.

Lawmakers described the move as an important step toward improving awareness, promoting responsible behavior, and safeguarding the health and well-being of young people.
