Kuwait Introduces New Vehicle Ownership Rule for Expats

Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has clarified that expatriates are allowed to own a maximum of three vehicles for personal use, according to traffic authorities.

Assistant Director of the Traffic Awareness Department, Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Bouhassan, said the limit covers all personal vehicles, including cars, pickup trucks, and motorcycles.

He added that expatriates can continue renewing registrations for vehicles they already own as long as the total number does not exceed three. However, authorities will not allow registration of any additional vehicles beyond the permitted limit.
