The Governor of Sindh has set aside an earlier order issued against K-Electric Limited’s chief executive officer by the Provincial Ombudsman, the power utility informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Tuesday.
In a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, the power utility said the matter stemmed from a complaint filed by a former employee under the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act, 2010.
The complaint involved allegations against two employees and a former director, and the Ombudsman’s order had been passed in connection with those proceedings.
The company said it had earlier disclosed the development in August 2025, when the Sindh High Court suspended the operation of the Ombudsman’s order after the CEO filed a constitutional petition. Separately, the CEO had also submitted a representation before the Governor of Sindh, the designated appellate forum for challenging Provincial Ombudsman decisions.
In its latest update dated February 2, 2026, K-Electric said the Governor, after hearing arguments from the parties and reviewing the case record, issued a decision under Section 9 of the relevant law and set aside the impugned Ombudsman order.
The company did not disclose further details of the allegations but said it had informed regulators in line with disclosure requirements.
In a disclosure filed with the PSX, K-Electric Limited said the decision relates to a complaint filed by a former employee under the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act, 2010.
The company said the impugned order had been passed by the Provincial Ombudsman, Sindh, on July 31, 2025, against K-Electric’s Chief Executive Officer in a matter involving allegations raised by a former employee.
Following the order, the CEO had filed a constitutional petition before the Sindh High Court, which suspended the operation of the Ombudsman’s decision. The CEO also filed a representation before the office of the Governor of Sindh, seeking a review of the order.
According to the disclosure, the Governor of Sindh, after hearing the concerned parties and reviewing the record, exercised powers under Section 9 of the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act, 2010, and set aside the Ombudsman’s order.
