PMDC Issues Advisory on Admissions Without MDCAT

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) has issued a public alert warning students and parents against fraudulent advertisements claiming to offer medical and dental admissions without meeting mandatory eligibility requirements.

In a statement, the PM&DC said it has observed an increase in misleading ads circulating in newspapers and on social media, particularly targeting students who failed the MDCAT.

The council clarified that students who do not qualify MDCAT are not eligible for admission to medical or dental colleges in Pakistan and will not be registered with the PM&DC, even if they manage to secure admission through unofficial means.

The regulator further warned that admission to foreign medical or dental institutions also does not automatically guarantee registration in Pakistan. Graduates will only be eligible for PM&DC registration if they fulfill all prescribed requirements, including passing MDCAT.

The council advised applicants to rely solely on official announcements and verify admission-related information through the websites of provincial admitting universities and relevant authorities.
