Karachi is experiencing stronger-than-usual winds, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reported Wednesday.
Winds originating from north-eastern Balochistan are currently blowing at 30 km/h and may exceed 40 km/h later in the day, bringing a slight chill to the city.
The PMD forecast mainly cold and dry weather across most parts of Pakistan over the next 12 hours, with very cold and partly cloudy conditions in hilly areas.
Temperatures recorded this morning include: Islamabad 7°C, Peshawar 7°C, Lahore 14°C, Karachi 18°C, Quetta 5°C, Gilgit 3°C, Muzaffarabad 3°C, and Murree -1°C.
Meanwhile, a fresh spell of snowfall and intermittent rain blanketed Murree, Abbottabad, and the Galiyat region on Tuesday.
Murree received up to four inches of snow, with light snowfall later turning into rain. Murree District Police Officer Dr. Mohammad Raza Tanveer Sapra confirmed that all roads remained open and traffic flowed normally.
Tourists were advised to exercise caution due to foggy and slippery conditions, use fog lights, avoid speeding, and maintain safe distances.
Emergency assistance is available through helpline 15 and the local traffic police. Other hilly areas, including Thandiyani, Nathiagali, and Ayubia, also experienced heavy snow and freezing temperatures.
