The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise Department generated Rs. 47.03 crore by auctioning 30 premium “choice” number plates during a bidding event in Peshawar.
According to the official details, the highest bid was placed for the number plate “Dawar 1,” which was sold for Rs. 17.50 crore. The second highest bid was recorded for “Orakzai 1,” purchased for Rs. 4.10 crore, while “Waziristan 1” fetched Rs. 4.06 crore.
“Bajaur 1” was auctioned for Rs. 3.35 crore and “Mohmand 1” for Rs. 3.21 crore. “Mehsud 1” secured a bid of Rs. 2.20 crore, while “Khyber 1” was sold for Rs. 2.01 crore. Among other notable bids, “Gujar 1” went for Rs. 1.63 crore and “Pashtun 1” for Rs. 1.32 crore.
Among the plates sold for less than one crore, “Buner 1” went for Rs. 9.5 million, “Jadoon 1” for Rs. 7.1 million, “Mardan 1” for Rs. 6.8 million, “Dir 1” for Rs. 6.7 million, “Khalil 1” for Rs. 6.5 million, and “Khattak 1” for Rs. 6.1 million.
“Taj 1” was sold for Rs. 4.2 million, “Kohat 1” for Rs. 4.3 million, “Syed 1” for Rs. 3.3 million, “Swat 1” for Rs. 3.0 million, “Sheikh 1” for Rs. 2.7 million, “Marwat 1” for Rs. 2.6 million, “Kulachi 1” for Rs. 2.5 million, and “Abbottabad 1” for Rs. 1.7 million.
The department stated that strong public participation demonstrated significant interest in the premium number plate initiative and said similar auctions would be held in the future.
