Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal announced that the government has decided to produce historical web series on Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
The global-standard historical series will be produced to mark the 150th birth anniversaries of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal.
Speaking on the occasion, Ahsan Iqbal said the project is not merely a ceremonial initiative but an important milestone in national renewal and intellectual revival. He emphasized that purposeful storytelling is a powerful tool for nation-building.
He stated that the initiative aims to connect the younger generation with the ideological journey behind the creation of Pakistan, constitutionalism, and national values. He added that the ideas of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal remain influential and continue to offer guidance at the global level.
Iqbal further said that historical dramas can serve as an effective tool of soft power and cultural diplomacy. The government will provide seed funding of up to Rs. 500 million to ensure production at an international standard.
The federal minister also announced that academic workshops will be organized for writers and producers to ensure historical research and intellectual depth. He said that research-based, authentic, and globally competitive historical productions will be developed, aligning national heritage with the demands of the digital age.
He added that collaboration with the creative industry will strengthen the national narrative, and the constitutional struggle of Quaid-e-Azam and the intellectual vision of Allama Iqbal will be presented as part of the global discourse.
