Balochistan Approves New Divisions and Districts

The provincial cabinet of Balochistan has approved the creation of new divisions and districts, along with a major reorganization of administrative boundaries.

The decisions were taken during the cabinet meeting held on January 19, 2026.

New District and Division Announced

  • A new district named Barshor has been approved, with Barshor as its headquarters.
  • Toba Kakari will be part of the new district.

A new Pishin Division will also be established, comprising:

  • Pishin
  • Barshor
  • Chaman
  • Qila Abdullah
    Headquarters: Saranan

Quetta and Mastung Restructuring

  • Quetta district will be divided into two separate districts.
  • Mastung will be separated from Kalat Division and merged into the Quetta Division.

Other Divisional Arrangements

Zhob Division will retain its existing boundaries, including:

  • Zhob
  • Musakhel
  • Qila Saifullah

Loralai Division will include:

  • Loralai
  • Duki
  • Musakhel
  • Ziarat

A new division named Koh-e-Suleiman Division will be created, comprising:

  • Upper Dera Bugti
  • Kohlu
  • Barkhan
    Headquarters: Rakhni

Naseerabad Division will remain unchanged, including Jhal Magsi and other districts.

The cabinet has directed that further details regarding the restructuring be presented in the next meeting.
