The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has claimed to have arrested a suspect allegedly involved in a financial fraud amounting to Rs9.6 million through the illegal use of a credit card.
According to the agency, its Commercial Banking Circle in Lahore apprehended the accused, identified as Atiqur Rehman, in the Cantonment area on Tuesday.
The FIA stated that the suspect exploited a technical fault in a private bank’s system and repeatedly made unauthorized transactions, misusing a credit card to fraudulently obtain funds.
A case has been registered against the accused, and further investigation is underway.
Separately, a ceremony was held at the FIA Lahore Zone to pay tribute to the martyrs of the agency. Participants honored their sacrifices and offered special prayers for the departed souls.
During the event, motorcycles were distributed among the families of martyrs under a welfare support program.
FIA Lahore Director Captain Muhammad Ali Zia reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to supporting the families of its fallen personnel, stating that the FIA would continue to provide full assistance and patronage to them.
