FDE Announces Two-Week Closure of Schools and Colleges

The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has announced the closure of all educational institutions operating under its administrative control from March 16 to March 31, 2026, as part of austerity and fuel conservation measures.

According to a notification issued by the Academics Wing of the Federal Directorate of Education, the decision has been taken in pursuance of directions conveyed through a Cabinet Division notification dated March 9, 2026 regarding the implementation of fuel conservation measures.

The notification states that all schools, colleges and other institutions functioning under the FDE will remain closed during the specified period. However, examination-related activities will continue without interruption according to the already approved institutional schedules.
