Donald Trump Fires US Army Chief, Two Generals Over Failed Strategy in Iran War

The United States has abruptly fired Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George and two other generals over failed strategy against Iran in the current Gulf War.

The dismissal was announced without a detailed public explanation. Removing a service chief during an ongoing war is highly unusual and often reflects deep disagreements over strategy rather than routine leadership rotation.

Apparently, US President Donald Trump is seeking tighter alignment within the military command structure ahead of potentially expanding efforts against Iran.

The former chief was a career infantry officer who oversaw major Army transformation in the US army ranks and was widely viewed as an institutional strategist with strong views on the risks and logistical challenges of large-scale ground deployments. It is possible that an internal resistance to escalating efforts against Iran could have created friction among the high-ranking government officials in Washington.

Attention has now shifted to the expected elevation of Gen. Christopher LaNeve, previously a close military aide to War Secretary Pete Hegseth. His potential appointment is being interpreted as an effort to reinstate confidence during an increasingly volatile phase of the Gulf War.
