The Punjab Masstransit Authority has introduced a new facility at one of its metro stations, adding to recent developments across the public transport system.
A vending machine has been installed at Anarkali Station, allowing passengers to purchase snacks and beverages during their commute. The addition is aimed at improving on-site amenities and providing greater convenience for daily riders.
Separately, the administration of the Orange Line Metro Train has introduced a new requirement for passengers availing free travel.
Authorities have made it mandatory for such passengers to carry a valid Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) for verification.
Passengers without proper identification will not be allowed to use the free travel facility, as checks have been implemented at stations.

There should be regulation about passengers. In a bus, approximately 50 travellers can use the service at a time. But there are around about 100 passengers. It increases the burden on people and leave no space, conjusting the entire place
Instead of installing vending machines, kindly make arrangements for commuters for access to Metro bus via underground path so the commuters don’t have to cross two roads to avoid road accidents.
