The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has prepared a comprehensive expansion plan for Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, allocating Rs. 100 billion for a major development project to meet rising passenger demand and future capacity needs.
Under the proposed project, both the international and domestic terminal buildings will be expanded, while a new terminal building will also be constructed as part of the large-scale upgrade.
The plan has been designed with a 50-year outlook, taking into account future needs related to passenger traffic, cargo operations, and business activity.
The expansion will also include the development of a modern cargo village and an international-standard cargo section to enhance the airport’s capacity and operational efficiency, along with several additional facilities.
According to sources, the PAA administration has already accelerated work on the project, marking a significant step toward transforming the country’s busiest airport.
