Pakistani stocks staged a big jump today with the KSE-100 index gaining over 1,600 points to end the week.
The 100-Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) rose by 1,673 points or 1.01 percent to touch 167,191 points as compared to 165,517 points on the last trading day.
The benchmark during mid-session eased back to 168,290, up 1.7 percent or 2,772 points.
A total of 452 million shares were traded during the day, whereas the price of shares stood at Rs. 38.1 billion at close.
As many as 565 companies transacted their shares in the stock market, 358 of them recorded gains and 101 sustained losses, whereas the share price of 106 companies remained unchanged.
