Court Again Stops Arrest of Hamza Ali Abbasi’s Sister in Rs. 2,500 Crore Fraud Case

A special court in Islamabad has stopped the arrest of Dr. Fazeela Abbasi, sister of Hamza Ali Abbasi, in an ongoing money laundering case and extended her interim bail until April 20.

The hearing was conducted by Special Judge Central Humayun Dilawar, during which the Federal Investigation Agency submitted the challan in the case.

According to court proceedings, the FIA had already frozen a joint bank account held by Dr. Fazeela Abbasi and Hamza Ali Abbasi as part of the investigation. During the hearing, Dr. Fazeela Abbasi also filed a request seeking the reopening of the joint account.

The prosecutor informed the court that a written reply had been submitted on behalf of Dr. Fazeela, but she had not appeared personally. In response, Dr. Fazeela told the court that she had appeared multiple times in previous hearings.

At that point, her counsel Naeem Bukhari advised her not to directly address the judge and stated that the earlier bail rejection had been challenged in the high court.

The judge observed that the interim bail had already been continuing for nearly three months and noted that the high court had directed the trial court to decide the matter while ensuring the accused joins the investigation.

The court subsequently ordered that Dr. Fazeela Abbasi should not be arrested until April 20 and directed her to join the investigation the same day.

  • I think Dr. fazeela ki bhutto say shadi ho gai hai, Ayaan ali ki tarahan, to jab tak bhutto zinda hai yeh bachi rahay gi. (i may be wrong)
