Sony Launches INZONE H6 Air as One of Its Lightest Gaming Headsets Ever

Sony has expanded its INZONE gaming lineup with the introduction of the INZONE H6 Wired Air, a lightweight headset designed for players who prioritize sound accuracy.

Open-Back Design for Improved Audio

The INZONE H6 Air features an open-back design, a key difference from traditional closed gaming headsets. This approach reduces internal echo and creates a more natural sound profile. It also produces a wider soundstage, making it easier to detect the direction and distance of in-game audio.

Sony has equipped the headset with custom-tuned drivers derived from its MDR-MV1 studio headphones. These drivers have been adjusted for gaming use. The design also includes built-in back ducts to control airflow, helping deliver deeper bass while keeping mid-range sounds such as footsteps and dialogue clear.

Audio Features

The headset’s audio profile has been developed with input from sound teams at PlayStation Studios. It includes a dedicated RPG and Adventure equalizer mode designed to enhance environmental detail and depth.

When paired with the USB-C Audio Box and INZONE Hub software, the headset supports virtual 7.1-channel surround sound and 360 Spatial Sound for Gaming.

Lightweight Build

Sony has focused on comfort with the INZONE H6 Air. The headset weighs approximately 199 grams without the detachable microphone and cable, making it one of the lightest options in the company’s gaming lineup.

It uses a spring hinge headband design, similar to the INZONE H9 II, to maintain a secure fit without adding pressure during extended use.

Microphone

For voice communication, the headset includes a cardioid boom microphone. The mic is positioned to capture the user’s voice while reducing background noise. Its flexible arm allows for easy adjustment and stays in place once set. Sony also worked with Fnatic during development.

The INZONE H6 Air is priced at $199.99.
