Punjab Information and Culture Minister Azma Bokhari said payments have started for applicants whose registration and verification under the motorcycle subsidy program have been completed.
Speaking at a press conference alongside Punjab Agriculture Minister Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani, she said the government had extended the registration deadline by one month and waived the fee during this period to facilitate applicants.
She urged those who have not yet registered to complete the process within the extended timeline to benefit from the subsidy, adding that no segment of society, including persons with disabilities, has been excluded from the program.
The minister said the government had ensured uninterrupted supply of petroleum products, while acknowledging that certain technical aspects of pricing are not directly under its control.
She also said previous governments had failed to build adequate capacity in the energy sector, an issue now under review. Highlighting transport initiatives, she said 100 new buses will be added by the end of April, followed by another 400 by the end of May to expand green public transport across Punjab.
