UAE Schools to Resume In-Person Classes

The UAE Ministry of Education has announced that regular classroom teaching will resume across all nurseries, kindergartens, and public and private schools starting Monday, April 20, 2026.

In a statement shared on Wednesday, the ministry confirmed the return to in-person learning for students as well as educational and administrative staff.

The decision follows the completion of preparedness measures, including facility checks, staff training, and updated safety and security protocols.

The ministry said these steps are aimed at ensuring a safe and stable learning environment for students and families across the country.

Private schools will retain the flexibility to adopt a hybrid rotational learning model when necessary, subject to approval by local education authorities.

However, schools using hybrid systems must ensure proper staffing arrangements and avoid assigning teachers to deliver both in-person and remote lessons simultaneously.

The ministry emphasized that these guidelines are intended to maintain education quality and balance workloads for teaching staff.

It also stated that educational institutions will remain prepared to shift to alternative learning modes if required, ensuring continuity of education during any future disruptions.

The announcement ends uncertainty surrounding the school schedule and provides parents and institutions with clear timelines to prepare for the return of on-campus learning.
