Authorities in Islamabad have stepped up security measures amid expected developments, including possible talks between the United States and Iran, and a large مذہبی اجتماع later this month.
The capital administration, led by Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon, launched an operation to remove illegal security cabins outside houses in high-security areas.
A total of 47 cabins were dismantled in sectors F-6, F-7, and F-10. Officials said the move aims to reduce the presence of unverified private guards and improve overall security arrangements.
The operation was carried out with support from the police, the Capital Development Authority, and the Directorate of Municipal Administration.
Authorities also temporarily shut down inter-provincial bus and cargo terminals, including those in Faizabad and Pirwadhai, before reopening them later in the day.
Officials later stated that transport operations were functioning normally and denied reports of prolonged closures.
A contingent of 4,000 personnel from the Punjab Police has been deployed in Islamabad to support local law enforcement. Additional قوات from Rangers and the Federal Constabulary are also being requested.
Security forces will be stationed at entry and exit points, sensitive locations, and اہم تنصیبات, along with increased patrolling.
Authorities have placed the city on high alert, ordering combing operations in slums, wooded areas, and surrounding علاقوں. Intelligence agencies, including the Special Branch and CTD, have been directed to intensify monitoring.
Hotels, guest houses, and inns are also under strict surveillance, with police instructed to verify the records of guests.
Officials confirmed that a large gathering, Tablighi Ijtema, is scheduled in Islamabad from April 24 to 26, with thousands expected to attend.
Authorities said the combined measures aim to ensure security during upcoming events and maintain order in the capital.
