Islamabad is moving ahead with plans to strengthen diplomatic facilitation for Uzbekistan, with authorities confirming support for shifting the Uzbek Embassy to the city’s Red Zone.
The commitment was made during a meeting between Islamabad Chief Commissioner and Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Sohail Ashraf and Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Alisher Tukhtayev at the CDA Headquarters.
Officials discussed arrangements required for relocating the embassy within Islamabad’s diplomatic district, with the CDA chief assuring that all necessary support and coordination would be provided to complete the process smoothly.
Both sides also reviewed broader Pakistan–Uzbekistan cooperation, noting growing engagement in diplomatic, cultural, and urban development areas. The talks highlighted efforts to improve infrastructure and expand institutional links between the two countries.
The planned relocation is seen as part of ongoing steps to further deepen bilateral relations and strengthen the presence of foreign missions in Islamabad’s designated diplomatic zones.
